Routes to the River

We’re often asked for the best car-free ways to travel downtown. Whether it’s to catch a music festival, eat delicious food at a new restaurant, or enjoy a day in the park without the hassle of parking, we’ve got you covered. CARTA’s bus and shuttle systems provide many paths to top Chattanooga destinations. Find your route, leave the car at home, and keep some of that rideshare money in your pocket to spend at local businesses.

Downtown Map

Below are the primary routes that will get you downtown. Keep in mind you’ll want cash in change or small bills to pay these minimal fares. Once you’ve arrived, connect to the free shuttles in the second list to move within the downtown area and across the river to access Coolidge & Renaissance Parks, great attractions, and fantastic food. And don’t forget to grab a Bike Chattanooga bike to really take in all the sights!
