Take a Bike!

Whether you’re riding a bike of your own or grabbing some shared wheels from Bike Chattanooga, you’ll be treating yourself to one of the most enjoyable modes of transportation there is while keeping the air clean and using less energy.

  • Bike Chattanooga is our local bike share program, and their stations can be found here or using the PBSC or Transit apps. If you’re a local, we highly recommend picking up an annual pass for $50 to give you the freedom to ride whenever you like.

  • Our favorite map comes from Bike Walk Chattanooga and can be found here. Additionally, the CHCRPA created a report and map of the safest routes here. The City of Chattanooga also provides maps and resources here.

  • There are many types of bikes that offer assistance or full power via an electric motor. Bike Chattanooga has dozens of e-bikes amongst their fleet, often spotted by their green color (as seen below). You can also search local dealers to purchase an e-bike of your own.

The best of both worlds.
Bike out. Ride back.

Did you know all CARTA buses (shuttles excluded) have a rack for up to two bikes? Learn more about these from CARTA here. And check out this quick, how-to video from the city of Brownsville, TX, that uses the same rack system.
